FAQ'S
What’s the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
A dietitian is a university qualified health professional who has completed a minimum 4 year degree and is recognised by the government to be an expert in the field of nutrition. While every dietitian is a nutritionist by default, not every nutritionist is a dietitian and the term ‘nutritionist’ is not protected. This means anyone could call themselves a nutritionist without any formal training. An APD (accredited practising dietitian) is a dietitian who continues to complete a minimum of 30 hours of professional development each year to remain up to date with the most relevant advancements in health and nutrition. All dietitians at Guided Nutrition are APD’s.
